Production Blog: Peer Review

I'm Luc-Luis Manosalvas, and welcome back to my blog. We've just spent today having our work peer reviewed. Like we thought, the video definitely needs improving. The one to conduct the peer review was our friend Aiden. We decided on Aiden because he already understood what the video was about. On top of this, he even knew a little bit about what the requirements are for it. Aiden's first reaction was that the camera work seemed a little sloppy. This may have been in large part due to my inexperience filming. I have, however, been practicing moving while filming. It's been tough, but I think I've gotten much better at keeping the camera stable. Aiden also noted that the dialogue felt unnatural in the opening scene. That is something that we should be able to fix with just a little bit of practice. Lighting was also an issue, as in some scenes, it was difficult to see inside the house. This, once again, should be easy to fix. There were a couple more tiny issues, but these were the most glaring. This peer review will be useful in our re-shoots and re-edits. Unfortunately, Rhys is still injured. This means we'll have to completely re-shoot the entire video without him. It's a short video, so it shouldn't be too big an issue, but it will be an inconvenience and a setback. My biggest concern is the rapidly approaching deadline. We will have to use tomorrow to film, and the day after to re-edit. It will be a lot of work, but I think we can get it done.
