Production Blog: Second Day of Editing for my Music Video
Hey everyone! I’m Luc-Luis Manosalvas, and welcome back to my blog. Most recently my group and I have once again done the editing for our music video in class. Earlier today, Daniel, Rhys, and I all arrived to class of time. On top of that, Rhys remembered to bring his computer. As soon as class started, we got to work. Rhys opened up his laptop, and this time, DaVinci Resolve opened right up without issue. We got started by adding more clips. We also arranged these and cut them down. After that, we talked about how we would edit the rest. Rhys was having second thoughts about the record player scene at the beginning. He said that it wouldn't make sense to have a record player and instruments. I argued that music videos don't have to make perfect sense or have perfect continuity. It's better to do something that will stick in people's heads every time they hear the song. Unfortunately, we soon discovered that my fears had been realized. There was not enough footage. To make things worse, we did not have the required pan and tilt. At first, I started to panic, but soon I realized that we still had until December 19th to submit our video. We decided that we would film the rest on the weekend at Daniels house. We plan to do the pan and the tilt as part of our two pool scenes. After that we will try to meet up to edit, but if not, Rhys will have to finish the editing on his own.
