Title Sequence Websites
I'm Luc-Luis Manosalvas, and welcome back to my blog. This is my group's research into title sequence websites.
Art of the Title Website
Art of the Title is a website that focuses on opening sequences. The first thing we saw when we entered the site was an interview with Michael DeForge, telling readers what his top five opening sequences are. Beneath this were other articles about title sequences. These included a deeper dive into She Hulk’s opening sequences, a list of the best 2022 title sequences, and another top five title sequences, this one by director Leigh Whannell. Under the section “Title Sequences,” we saw hundreds upon hundreds of title sequences for movies and TV shows alike. The list ran from newest to oldest, ranging from the 2022 movie ‘The Eternal Daughter,’ all the way to the 1920 movie, ‘The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari.’ Some of these title sequences just included the title itself, while others had a summary. Some of the title sequences even included an interview. Under the section, “Designers + Studios,” you can see hundreds of title sequence designers. You can also see dozens of studios that specialize in designing title sequences. On the top right, the website has a search function to find title sequences for any movie you’d like, provided it is on the site.
Watch the Titles! website
This website houses the opening/title sequences of many movies and video interviews. It showcases the very best in title design. Not only does this have a list of titles, but it also includes designers and studios. When you click on the designer's section, you can see their information and learn more about them. When you click on the studios section, you can see many different studios and you can see their strengths and a description of them. When you first get on this website you see a slideshow of many popular movies and interviews that are being suggested to users. Your eyes are immediately drawn to it as it is right in the middle of the screen and big. When you scroll down a little further, you can see every single interview available for viewing. You then see a list of categories ranging from featured films to tv shows, to event titles and more. This website is easy to navigate especially since it has a search feature, which you can search for specific movies or videos.
